How to Prep Last Minute for a Performance (Part 4)

If you have a performance coming up but you feel like there’s no way you can get ready in time, here are two things that you can do to help.

The first step is for you to believe you can pull it off. If you don't think you can pull off, it's not going to happen.

The next thing you do is set a practice schedule. A lot of times when we have a performance coming up we just play the piece the way we would like it to sound at the performance over and over again, hoping that we’ll get better at it. However, the best thing to do is to think how you can grow the most in a short amount of time. Do this by setting a schedule between the day that you're starting and the performance date. Learn your piece from start to finish; break it down and build it up, from the beginning level all the way up to performance level each day.
