CMA Summer 2021 Class: Meet the Composers
If your child is interested in learning about the people who wrote their favorite movie and game soundtracks, we have a fun summer class for them. They’ll learn about a diverse group of composers from all over the world across many genres. I’ll be teaching CMA’s summer class “Meet the Composers” for students ages 4 to 12.
Your child will learn about composers like John Williams, the American composer behind some of the most famous soundtracks for films such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and Indian Jones. Do they love watching Miyazaki films like Howl’s Moving Castle and Totoro? Joe Hisaishi is the Japanese composer behind those elaborate scores. Your child will also learn about famous classical western composers such as Mozart, who wrote his first composition, Minuet and Trio in G major, when he was just 5 years old!
Not only will your child learn about the lives of these composers, but they will learn how to integrate their methods into their own music.
