Rock-Star Camp for Kids- July 21 - 25, 2008: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (For Beginners to early-intermediate) $250

This camp will be a fun exploration of popular music. Participants will be grouped according to their playing level and experience. Each group will rotate through different pods where they will learn contemporary, child-friendly songs on different instruments. Instruments will include piano, drums and guitar. Campers will learn about chords, sight-reading, ear training and ensemble playing. The campers will be able to play in “bands” where they will record a CD of the music they work on throughout the camp.

This camp will work on valuable music concepts as well as skills children can apply to other activities. The campers will learn the importance of working well with others, communicating effectively and helping one another understand new concepts.

The staff is made up of professional teachers who have years of experience teaching children about music making.

The camp will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 2 p.m. each day. Each camper should pack their lunch each day. You can download the brochure and registration here and mail it in by the registration deadline.
